Privacy Policy for Vertebro

Last Updated: September 5, 2026

Vertebro is built to be private by design. The app has no accounts, no sign-up, and no server that stores your data. Your posture photos and analysis results are processed and stored entirely on your device.

1. Data That Stays on Your Device

  • Posture photos: The front and side photos you capture or select are analyzed by an AI model that runs directly on your phone. They are never uploaded to us or to any third party.
  • Analysis results: Your posture scores, measurements, and scan history are stored only in the app's local storage on your device.
  • Preferences and activity: Your goals, reminder settings, and exercise history are likewise stored only on your device.

Deleting the app permanently deletes all of this on-device data. We cannot recover it because we never had it. The only data that exists off your device is the pseudonymous usage analytics described in section 5, which you can ask us to delete at any time.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect your name, email address, photos, health data, location, or contacts. There is no account to create. Apart from the pseudonymous usage analytics described in section 5, nothing about you is stored on any server.

3. Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), and your subscription status is managed through RevenueCat under a random, pseudonymous identifier. Neither we nor RevenueCat receive your name, email address, or payment card details from this process. Apple's and Google's own privacy policies apply to the payment itself.

This same identifier is used for the usage analytics described in section 5, and RevenueCat sends subscription status events (such as a trial starting, a renewal, or a cancellation) to PostHog under it.

4. Notifications

Posture reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. They do not involve any server and can be turned off at any time in the app or in your device settings.

5. Analytics

Vertebro collects pseudonymous usage analytics through PostHog to understand how the app is used and to improve it. This is limited to things like which screens are viewed, which features are used (for example that a scan was completed or an exercise routine was finished), your subscription status (such as trial started, subscribed, or cancelled), device type, and app version.

These are tied to the same random identifier used for your subscription (section 3), so we can see how the app is used by people who subscribe and by people who don't. RevenueCat sends subscription status events to PostHog under that identifier. The identifier is generated on your device and is not linked to your name, email address, or any account.

Analytics never include your photos, your posture scores or measurements, your name, email address, or anything that identifies you personally.

Analytics data is retained for 12 months. To have your analytics data deleted sooner, open Settings in the app, tap "Your data ID" to copy it, and email it to us at the address in section 8. We will delete the associated data from PostHog and RevenueCat.

6. Children

Vertebro is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update this page and the "Last Updated" date above.
